Two-day group shoe making workshop

£325.00 - £440.00

Learn to make your very own pair of shoes from scratch in two days alongside designer Hetty Rose in this group shoe making experience, hosted in a beautiful converted church in Buntingford.

The first decision during the course will be choosing the style of shoe you would like to make from a selection - you will also learn the basics of pattern cutting, choosing leathers and/or vintage Japanese kimono fabric to make your uppers, sewing, lasting and heel covering. You can decide to make a flat shoe, or a heeled shoe (options for heel heights below). We can accommodate fitting issues (wide/sensitive feet) and you will be expertly guided by Hetty through every stage, so no experience needed.

Sewing machine use is required (you may bring your own machine if you have one) and all materials and tools will be provided. You can bring along your own fabric if you would like to (please email Hetty to double check suitability prior to the course). Hetty will need to know your shoe size, style and heel height you would like for your shoes prior to the course.

Heel height options: Flat (1cm stacked leather heel), mid height (5-7cm), high height (8-10cm).

The course will run at a leisurely pace at a stunning converted church in Buntingford where Hetty has hosted many workshops before and its always a hit! There will be time for questions and demonstrations from Hetty. Refreshments & lunch will be provided. You will also receive a suppliers list and shoe making process sheet. Hetty will be on hand the extire experience to guide you through your shoe making journey offering her knowledge of 20 years making ladies shoes.

This course will also be running as a one-day course if you would like to join us at a halfway stage on Sunday 19th May. Hetty will prepare your shoe pieces for you prior to the day - just choose this option below.
